WHAT

We could use all the trending buzzwords of the day to tell you we are a daring, avant-garde travel company that designs bespoke, life-affirming, wilderness-living sabbaticals – Rare, Raw, and Wild Ventures for those willing to push their edge . . .

. . . but how do we distill into words the experience of sneaking up and touching your favourite animal and feeling their damp, quivering nose or soft-padded touch in return; learning the language of the forest so a bird can ask you for help when you return to the city; or discovering every leaf, spice, root and berry so you can create unimaginable, gourmet wild meals? We cannot put these experiences into words for they exist beyond the bounds of written language and attempts to categorize their significance feel like hollow abstractions devoid of the power we know they carry for human wholeness and mastery.

How can we tell the story of our Ventures or accommodations when they are handcrafted for you personally and inspired by the landscape at the time you are in it, by its wild foods, cultural myths, primitive technology, healing herbs, relevant science, and iconic wildlife of the places we will call home? We cannot and we will not because we consider the coming together of these elements too sacred to reduce to marketing terminology.

WHY

When you touch the untamed wilderness and are touched in return, it can transform and light you up in unimaginable ways. We are here to support, encourage and help nurture that fire within, to continue strengthening our human-nature connections and enhance our human brilliance.

Our need to share is not fueled by the desire to transform society into a collection of back-to-the-land Luddites, but to create a balanced lifestyle, drawing on both the wisdom of the old ways and the best of our new technologies.

This balance will give us the skills necessary to embrace the unknown, defy our fears, break down barriers, and use our extraordinary capabilities to tell the stories we desire about ourselves, our communities, and the legacies we leave for the future.

WHO

Our Ventures are only possible because of our extraordinary team. We are the outliers and elite mavericks in the fields of extreme adventure, stone-tool survival, and nature connection, becoming North America’s top trackers, naturalists, primitive artisans and now, television’s premiere survival talent.

We have often marveled at the wild side of our lives, wondering why we’ve gone to such extremes to learn these lost skills, to adopt the powerful mindsets and heroic abilities of our ancient ancestors, especially during the times these skills felt so irrelevant to our modern lives. Now, as we face many new challenges, from a global mental health crisis to the environmental degradation of our planet, we recognize there is an even greater need to share the depths of what we have discovered.
