Our guests are often seeking adventure, clarity, truth, and direction at pivotal points in their lives, whether this stems from burnout, anxiety, fear, loss of life direction, destructive behavioural patterns, stagnation or a feeling of something missing in life.
With LUMINARIA, you can expect your dining experience to be one of your fondest memories and a big part of your wilderness Venture. Our creative, Wild menus designed by professional Chefs, and our unique cooking styles are unlike anything you have experienced before. Depending on what we have created, we start and end our Ventures at either wilderness lodges, high-end glamping tents, cabins, private estates, off-grid homesteads, sailboats or even your own private yacht or property. These accommodations are based on availability, types of Ventures, your budget, and the landscape we travel to. We believe your integration into and out of the wilderness is just as important as the heart of your Venture. The details of our Outpost Camps are kept secret, but rest assured, you will experience the unimaginable comfort and luxury the wilderness has to offer. With our soft linens and plush pillows, your hand-crafted, wild homes are artistic marvels. We value confidentiality for our guests and LUMINARIA. Signing a non-disclosure agreement will be required.
We value exclusivity, privacy, and secrecy. The intent is to instill wonder, mystery, and anticipation. Too little of life is raw, free, and unknown. We want you to remain fully immersed in your Venture without worrying about what comes next. The lack of detail allows us to design you an adventure where you can immerse yourself in the fluidity, nuances and unexpected magical moments of the Wild places you will experience. Signing a LUMINARIA non-disclosure agreement will be required.
An Uncharted Venture can be as long as you want. It often takes time to settle into the wilderness and shed your city energy. To help with this transition, guests arrive and return to various types of wilderness lodgings before venturing father into the wilderness to our custom camps, therefore, our favourite trip length is 10 – 14 days. We do not usually like to create a Venture that is less than 7 days long. Five days is our absolute minimum and usually reserved for special introductory offers. Tell us what you have in mind and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
This process takes time, especially due to the remote, wilderness destinations at the core of our travels. Our team must design your Venture, set up logistics, including safety and security protocols, private transportation, handcraft details, and build your wilderness home. It can take weeks or even months to set up an Unchartered Venture, depending on the complexity, budget, and activities planned.
We don’t like to put conditions on our Ventures, so please contact us to discuss your ideas. Our most remote locations can accommodate a maximum of 6-10 adults, depending on location. We must take into consideration the impact, logistics, standards, and experiences we offer for larger group sizes. We typically don’t exceed 20 people, but we will work with you to find Wild locations and design a program for larger corporate retreats, family reunions, wedding parties, and more. All LUMINARIA Ventures have an Erase Our Presence policy that involves re-planting and other methods of restoration to erase our human presence.
Unless you are joining a Mapped Venture, our Ventures are usually designed for private groups. Our trips are designed to connect and strengthen friendships, families, partners, and corporate teams. If you are a solo traveler or a couple looking to meet new friends or want to experience LUMINARIA with other adventurers, we will add you to our Group List and do our best to arrange a trip for you.
We offer trips year-round. The places we journey to are dictated by the seasons and the life cycles of the flora and fauna you want to encounter.
We typically don’t accept guests 16 and under, and we also don’t want to deny anyone this experience. Many of our guides have years of experience working with children. We are open to creative ways of including everyone, including nanny service. We have a screening process for these circumstances and a Minor Policy in place if we are able to plan a Venture with your children.
PRE-TRAVEL
LUMINARIA’s Ventures are tailored to the physical capabilities of our guests. They can be as tame or as extreme as you want, but our Ventures are designed to push you to your edge at times and show you the scope of your mental, physical, and emotional capabilities.
Due to the extremely remote places we visit, a functional level of fitness is beneficial. We will try and meet you where you are at, but depending on the landscape and activities you choose, we may send you a fitness plan.
We are here to help you in every stage of your Venture and will send you a LUMINARIA packing guide, customized for your Venture. Having survived and thrived in the wilderness ourselves, we are the people who test, review, and design gear. We have your back.
We do not have a travel booking service to help plan your personal flights, hotel stays or added luxury experiences while traveling to and from your Ventures. However, to take the guesswork out of planning, we will happily work with your personal travel advisor.
HEALTH & SAFETY
We are happy to accommodate your dietary requirements and food allergies. Please be as detailed as possible about your needs when completing our Guest Information Form for our culinary team because once in the wilderness, it is extremely difficult and expensive to obtain specialty goods for you.

LUMINARIA has a thorough and detailed Safety and Risk Management plan we tailor to you and your bespoke Venture. We are here to keep you safe and your trips confidential. Our guides are certified and skilled in all relevant safety protocols, we practice first-aid scenarios before your arrival, work closely with rescue services, and we always have a team member taking the role of safety guide to oversee the day or activity planned. We also work closely with private security teams.
We follow all mandatory guidelines for the travel industry.
