PRICING
This fee will depend on the complexity, activities, and required staff to design your customized dream adventure and have the team present it to you. The fee begins at $750 CAD. This cost will be credited towards your Venture. If you are traveling to an established LUMINARIA base camp, this fee will be waived. Our Scheduled Ventures allow for some customization, but normally there is no design fee required.
Unless you are joining a Mapped Venture, LUMINARIA’s Ventures are personally curated for you and your group. Prices will vary. We will work hard to meet your needs without sacrificing the quality and value of your experience. We value a very low guide to guest ratio. Our Ventures include travel to and from the arrival and departure location, baggage handling, wilderness lodging and base camp accommodation, guided activities, all meals and beverages, supply materials for take-home crafts, tools and wild foods, special gift packages, memory photos, one spa session per guest, and specialty gear. A detailed Gear List will be provided upon booking.
Mapped Venture prices are listed on their individual pages. Our Uncharted Ventures usually begin at $10,000 CAD per person. Our rates reflect our access to remote locations, small group sizes, low guide to guest ratios, rare services, the value placed on forgotten knowledge and lived experiences of our guides, the relationships we have with the communities who make your Venture possible, and the excellence of our handcrafted designs.
After your Venture you will be invited to join our private Venture Club and all the perks that come with it.
Please note* Our Ventures do not include the cost of travel to and from your wilderness destination pick up locations, premium alcohol, laundry, customized trip enhancements, extra spa and wellness services, heli or floatplane adventures, harvesting licenses, applicable taxes or gratuities.
We require a 45% deposit after the Design Phase and upon signing off on your Trip Reservation and Final Booking Price. The balance payment is due 90 days prior to arrival date, with full payment required immediately for bookings made within that window.
We strongly suggest that all guests ensure they have adequate cancellation and travel insurance prior to booking with us. While we certainly do our best to support our guests who find themselves in unforeseen circumstances, we do not offer refunds due to the nature of our bespoke Ventures and small size. Our cancellation policy is strictly enforced. We do offer LUMINARIA trip vouchers. (see our Cancellation policy below)
GENERAL POLICIES
Your design fees and deposits help us plan and build these Ventures. As you will therefore understand, cancellations have an immediate and negative impact on our team and the communities we work with.
We do not offer refunds for design fees or deposits for any of our Ventures. For Mapped Ventures, final payments received 90 days or less before your tour departure date are non-refundable and non-transferable to a different Venture or year, unless your current spaces can be filled with alternate guests. Final payments are only transferable for one year past initially booked Venture date.
For Uncharted Ventures, final payments received 90 days or less before your tour departure date are non-refundable and non-transferable. You will be given a LUMINARIA trip voucher equal to the amount paid to date, minus the design fee, deposit and a 3% cancellation fee. This voucher may be applied towards a future trip with LUMINARIA within 1 year of the original booking dates. Under special circumstances this voucher may be transferable to another person or group.
On the final payment due date your balance will be charged to the credit card provided for your deposit unless we are otherwise notified.
“Enhancement” Cancellations: If you decide to cancel any of the trip enhancements you chose and agreed to in your Trip Reservation document during your time in the field, LUMINARIA will retain the full amount paid for these services, products, and activities. Under special circumstances trip enhancements may be refunded, but this will be determined at the sole discretion of LUMINARIA and will occur within a reasonable amount of time after your cancellation.
LUMINARIA also reserves the right to cancel or modify a Trip Reservation, trip enhancement or activity due to safety concerns, such as a natural disaster to the region you are traveling to or where it appears that you or a member of your party has engaged in fraudulent or inappropriate activity, (determined in the sole discretion of LUMINARIA) or under other circumstances where it appears that the Final Booking Price or terms of a Trip Reservation contain or resulted from a mistake or error.
In the event that either party, the guests or LUMINARIA, through acts of God or acts or prohibitions of any governmental authority, war, civil disturbance, flood, fire, pandemic, weather related event or any other cause whatsoever beyond its control, is prevented from fulfilling its obligations, then LUMINARIA will use all reasonable efforts to reschedule the booking. LUMINARIA will not be subject to any further liability and no refund of a deposit, balance payment or other monies will be made, regardless of circumstances.
LUMINARIA will not offer a refund, adjustment or credit for early guest departures or for any unused portion of a Venture.
Helicopter/Float and Bush Plane day trips are pre-booked and cannot be changed at the guest’s request. If a guest is ill or if Mother Nature isn’t providing the weather we need, we will do our best to reschedule. Ultimate cancellations and possible refunds are at the discretion of 3rd party companies.
Many of our other elevated or extreme activities, such as hot air ballooning, paragliding, skydiving etc. are weather dependent. If specific locations are inaccessible or activities too dangerous to continue due to localized weather patterns, we will do all we can to reschedule and/or discuss other options. In these circumstances, a full or partial refund is not always possible and such refunds are at the discretion of 3rd party companies.
If for any reason LUMINARIA cannot deliver a specified component of the activities or services during guest’s stay, LUMINARIA reserves the right to offer a reasonable alternative without liability.
For the safety and understanding of all guests, a Release of Liability Waiver, Assumption of Risks, and Indemnity Agreement will need to be signed. Minors must have a parent or legal guardian sign the Release of Liability Waiver on their behalf.
Please download the waiver and be sure to read through in full prior to departure. Upon arrival to your LUMINARIA destination, you will be asked to sign the waiver, so there is no need to pre-sign or return the waiver prior to meeting us in the Wild.
Due to the exclusive and secretive nature of LUMINARIA, we don’t allow guests to take photos during some stages of our Ventures. During your stay, you will be photographed and recorded on video by one of LUMINARIA’S professional photographers.
You can also consent to these recordings and agree to waive any rights you may have in the recordings in favor of LUMINARIA utilizing these recordings on its social media or other marketing venues, including sharing them to our Venture Club members. LUMINARIA appreciates the use of this media to drive revenue, loyalty, and enhance its profile and reputation.
LUMINARIA holds a high value in your privacy and confidentiality. We are happy to sign any NDA’s required by our guests. We have our own NDA, which is necessary for participation in our Ventures.
